Fuel Price Relief: Petrol and Diesel Rates Cut in Pakistan

Pakistani commuters get a brief respite as the government announced fresh fuel price reductions effective August 8 to August 10, 2026. Following the previous revision where petrol prices were increased by Rs. 4.45 while diesel was reduced by Rs. 2, the latest notification from the Ministry of Energy brings price drops across both key fuels.

Updated Fuel Prices (w.e.f. August 8, 2026)

Petrol (Motor Spirit): Reduced by Rs. 2.20 per liter, bringing the new price down to Rs. 327.62 (from Rs. 329.82).
High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Reduced by Rs. 1.50 per liter, bringing the new price down to Rs. 380.86 (from Rs. 382.36).

Daily Pricing Mechanism in Effect

Under the government’s revised petroleum pricing mechanism administered by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), petrol and diesel rates are now updated every working day to keep pace with international market trends and exchange rate movements.
